Gombo is used as a vegetable or condiment in many dishes. Its flavour is similar to that of eggplant. Measuring from 1.20 to 1.50 m, it produces elongated fruits of 15 cm, sharp and hexagonal in shape.

Advice Vilmorin : Young fruits are eaten sliced, raw or cooked, especially in Creole, African, Japanese or Greek cuisine.

The Gombo likes the proximity of the carnation of India.

Germination is slow, so it is advisable to soak the seeds in lukewarm water overnight, before sowing.
