Vilmorin Tip:
• In case of high heat, water thoroughly because peas fear drought.
• Harvest snow peas just before the kernels form.
Cultural advice:
1. Sowing: From February to April, sow 4-5 seeds in small, shallow holes (called pockets) 40 cm apart in all directions, or in rows 60 cm apart, sowing one seed every 2-3 cm. A few days after emergence, lightly work the soil on the surface (hoe) to eliminate any weeds and aerate the soil.
2. Ridging: When your pea plants are 10-15 cm, hoe a second time and then bring a little soil to the base of your peas.
3. Training: Row with a rowing net or with branches pushed in close to your peas. 4. Harvest: Harvest from May to July. In regions with mild winters, you can sow your peas from October to November for an April to May harvest.
Companion plant(s):
Peas love the proximity of fennel, cucumbers, lettuce, and carrots.
