Early variety producing beautiful golden pods, thin and fleshy.
Description:
Early variety producing beautiful golden, thin and fleshy pods.
Vilmorin Tip:
• To succeed in your sowing, sow in a sunny position in light, healthy and suitably warmed soil because beans fear the cold.
• Mangetout beans can be harvested up to an advanced stage of development because they do not make a parchment thread.
Cultural advice:
1. Sowing: Sow 4 to 5 seeds from the end of April to July in small shallow holes (called pockets) 40 cm apart in all directions, or in rows 40 cm apart, sowing one seed every 5 cm. Be careful not to bury your seeds more than 2-3 cm deep. A few days after emergence, lightly work the soil on the surface (hoe) to eliminate any weeds and aerate the soil.
2. Ridging: When your bean plants are 10 to 12 cm, hoe a second time and then bring a little soil to the feet of your beans.
3. Harvest: Harvest the grains from July to October.
Companion plant(s):
Beans like the proximity of savory, which has a preventive action against aphids.
